Karthik expresses his delight as India find the leveller

The Indian wicketkeeper, alongside skipper Rohit Sharma, guided India past the finishing line against Australia in the second T20I. The win granted the ‘Men in Blue’ a much-needed comeback in the series, which is now levelled at 1-1.

Following the successful Indian run-chase, Karthik spoke about the importance of the win and expressed his delight of staying unbeaten till the end. The seasoned campaigner additionally praised Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel for their tight spells against the Australian line-up. He also highlighted the match-winning knock unfurled by the Indian skipper in the run-chase.

While speaking with Shastri, he said:

“You (Shastri) are the one who have taught us, it's never an easy game, go by the hard way. Rohit was telling me, these are the two bowlers who are gonna bowl. I had my own plans. I was ready if the ball was at the stumps. It feels good to hit the winning runs.”

“I think two people stood out today, Axar Patel with the ball and Rohit Sharma with the bat. I think Bumrah was good with the ball as well. From a series point of view, leveling the series was important. We would like to play the crunch games in Hyderabad. I think it was the loudest cheer from the games I have played in recent times.”
