Pakistan's all-format skipper Babar Azam heaped praise on his players by saying that he is proud of his teammates whenever they produce match-winning performances.

In the recently concluded seven-match T20I series, Babar's Pakistan side was completely outplayed by Moeen Ali's England in the 7th T20I of the bilateral white-ball series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The visitor's side thrashed Pakistan by 67 runs to register a historic 4-3 series win over the hosts in Lahore.

Despite missing the services of two frontline seamers- Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, the Pakistan bowlers fared well in the series.

Pakistan's next assignment is in New Zealand, where they will be playing a tri-series against the host New Zealand and Bangladesh.

Speaking to the reporters ahead of the tri-series in New Zealand, Babar said things are improving for his team as the Men in Green eyes a series win to take the confidence and momentum in the T20 World Cup slated to begin later this month.

“It makes me proud when my teammates give match-winning performances. I want my players to give a one hundred percent effort. Things are improving," said Babar Azam in the pre-series conference. “We tried different combinations in England series so we can get a clear picture before the T20 World Cup,"

Babar also lauded the pace battery, claiming that only Pakistani bowlers can go for yorkers with the wet ball.

When he was asked about the continuous failure of the middle order, Babar said the team is testing out new combinations ahead of the global event.
