With the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League getting in full flow with the Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders match, there was a hilarious moment right before the game. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan who is leading the Punjab side in their first game of the season forgot something crucial.

The coin fell in KKR captain Nitish Rana's favour who elected to bowl first in Mohali, however when things reached Dhawan, he could only name three of his overseas players.

Dhawan named Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Nathan Ellis and Sam Curran in his eleven as he failed to name debutant Sikandar Raza in his team.

"We would have fielded first. We have got a balanced side, so hopefully, we will do good. The team preparation has been good and we will look to dominate the game, hoping for a great season ahead. We are eager to win the trophy and I am looking to lead from the front. My overseas players are - Bhanuka, Nathan Ellis, and Sam Curran, don't remember the fourth name."

Raza has been in fine form throughout the past one year where he has picked wickets and scored runs around the world in crucial matches.

Meanwhile, Rana was quick name his overseas players i.e Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Tim Southee.

Dhawan was recently appointed as the skipper of the side after Mayank Agarwal was removed from the squad following a failed 2022 campaign.

Coming back to the match, Punjab are currently 121 for the loss of two wickets after 12 overs.
