Ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh, India's stand-in skipper, KL Rahul attended the pre-match conference and gave his views on Rohit Sharma's absence from the first Test.

Rohit suffered a dislocated thumb injury in the ODI series against Bangladesh, and as a result will miss the first Test. Rahul reckons that when a captain is missing from the squad, it's obviously a big miss for the team.

Here's what KL said

"Rohit Sharma is very important for the team, he's the captain and an experienced player as well. So when a captain gets injured, it's obviously a big miss for the team. But fingers crossed, we are hoping that he can recover quickly and come back for the second Test."

He further added: "We have to try and go back to the basics. I think as a team we have played a lot of Test matches, so it's only about reminding ourselves, reminding each other what we did well in the recent past, and try and repeat that."

India will face off against Bangladesh in a 2-match Test series, starting from December 14 in Chattogram. The home side won the ODI series 2-1, and the KL Rahul led side will be eager to win the Test series, in order to keep their WTC final dream alive.
