England's Harry Brook has made a stellar start to his Test career. The dynamic batter is the perfect player for England's new template - The Bazball approach and he showed his prowess once again in the warm-up game against New Zealand XI.

To prepare for the conditions in New Zealand, England decided to play a two-day warm-up match against the selected New Zealand XI side. The visitors posted a daunting 465 inside 69.2 overs, and Brook was the star of the show with a quick-fire 97.

The highlight of his demolishing knock was the five sixes that he smashed off Adi Ashok in an over. After defending the first ball, Brook decided to break the shackles, and there was no looking back.

The 20-year-old inexperienced bowler got rattled after the first six and Brook took full advantage of the situation. The right-arm leg-break bowler kept on flighting the ball, and with the shorter boundaries of New Zealand easy to clear, it became an easy task for Brook.

He missed out on a deserving century by 3 runs, but England were able to post a mammoth total on the board.

Apart from Brook, Joe Root (77), and Dan Lawrence (85), were the main contributors with the bat.

The first Test match between New Zealand and England begins from February 16.
