There are few brighter moments in the history of cricket than Sachin Tendulkar’s master class during the 1998 Coca Cola Cup.  It was after this unforgettable tournament that it became unanimous; Sachin Tendulkar is indeed the greatest of all time.

In 1998, Sachin Tendulkar was in supreme form, and India was playing Australia in the Coca-Cola Cup. In the famous Desert Storm game, Tendulkar smashed 143 runs from 131 balls against Australia, but India couldn't clinch the victory. However, India reached the finals largely due to Tendulkar's efforts. 

Sachin's Desert Storm destroys Australia

Two days later, on April 24th, 1998, the final between India and Australia took place in Sharjah, coinciding with Tendulkar's birthday celebrations. India won the toss and chose to bowl first. Australia reached a total of 272-9 in 50 overs in the efforts of their captain Steve Waugh (70 off 71 balls) and Darren Lehmann (70 off 59 balls).

In return, India came to bat with Sachin Tendulkar opening alongside Saurav Ganguly. Tendulkar wasn't feeling well in the initial overs, appearing tired. Australian pacer Michael Kasprowicz noticed this and attempted to unsettle Tendulkar with some sledging. 

However, Tendulkar remained unfazed and gradually found his rhythm. He went on to dismantle the Australian bowling attack, scoring 134 runs in 131 balls, including 12 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. 

Sachin's stellar performance helped India secure victory by 6 wickets, clinching the trophy in the process.

Tendulkar retired in 2013 after a remarkable 24-year career, and this innings stands tall as one of his greatest ever. Sachin Tendulkar celebrates his 51st birthday today-Happy birthday Sachin Tendulkar.
