After a lean run, former India captain Virat Kohli is making the most of his new-found purple patch in 2023.

Kohli slammed his second One-Day International (ODI) hundred of 2023 against Sri Lanka yesterday.

Kohli, who registered his fourth international hundred since the Asia Cup 2022, talked about being consistent and making the most of his form this year, which will also see the 2023 World Cup being held in India.

In an interview with BCCI.tv, the 34-year-old also praised youngster Shubman Gill for scoring his first hundred on Indian soil.

Here's what Kohli stated

"It has been a great start, been a while since I started the year like this with a hundred and then getting two hundreds in a series and also becoming man of the series. I'm just happy that in the World Cup year I'm able to start like this and I know I can be consistent, so when I start like this and start feeling confident, then things usually go well,

"So, I'm just happy from the team's point of view that I was able to start like this and the team can really gel well as a batting unit."

The batting legend credited the Indian team's throw-down specialists for making him work hard in the nets.

Kohli will look to continue his form when India meet visitors New Zealand in a three-ODI series starting Wednesday at Hyderabad.
