After sustaining five heavy defeats upfront, Delhi Capitals managed to upstage the Kolkata Knight Riders to welcome their opening points of the ongoing IPL 2023 season. David Warner and Co. will now look to capitalise on their newfound momentum when they take on SRH in an away game on April 24.

With Delhi Capitals languishing at the bottom of the points table, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has expressed a piece of advice for the struggling team management in a bid to reboot from their dismal campaign so far.

Kaif asks Delhi Capitals to work on team combination

Delhi Capitals' batting has been their biggest let-down this season. Even their recent win against the KKR was hard-earned by the bowlers, as the batters consumed more than 19 overs to chase down a mere 128-run target.

Prithvi Shaw's lack of form and Warner's low strike rate still haunt the Capitals as they continue to mull over Rishabh Pant's absence from the tournament.

Cricketer-turned-commentator Mohammad Kaif seems to have assessed Delhi Capitals' struggles and has issued a piece of advice for the team management.

The former Indian batsman, while speaking on Star Sports, stated that the Capitals need to rework their team combination and strategy.

He claimed that the players' morale had taken a hit owing to five losses, so they need to forget the earlier results and focus on positive outcomes this season. He said:

"Delhi will have to focus on its team combination. This team will have to rethink its strategy. There are a lot of problems in the team and the morale of the players has gone taken a hit. Now, Delhi Capitals will have to forget everything and focus on winning consistently, which is not an impossible task."

Delhi Capitals' upcoming match-up against SRH marks a homecoming of sorts for its captain David Warner. The left-handed opening batsman was part of the 'Orange Army' for eight years till 2021 and even led them to title in 2016.
