India faced a loss against England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 and crashed out. Some serious questions were asked by ex-players and critics of the game who felt that the team' decisions were below par during the tournament.

Now, former Pakistani cricketer Salman Butt has questioned the team's performance and gave an interesting outlook on how the team can succeed after this debacle.

According to Butt, MS Dhoni should be India's next head coach and reason being he has a great tactical mind. Mentioning VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag, he was of the view that both of them were outstanding players but leadership qualities weren't there.

"Both VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag were fantastic players. But leadership and tactical prowess are very important because a coach also needs to be a mentor to the players. Looking at how successful MS Dhoni was in those aspects, he would be my first choice,

"Greater things don't happen unless you take risks. This is not a risk, it is more about testing the players. It won't be the case that everyone will succeed, but you need to at least give people opportunities. By giving them more chances, you will be able to identify one or two players who can fill those gaps,"

He also emphasized on youngster getting more chances in the future which could give some potential match winners. India's next assignment will be against New Zealand beginning from 18th November.
