Day two of the ongoing Boxing Day Test between South Africa and Australia witnessed both incredible and a few freakish moments throughout the day. In an unfortunate incident, South African pacer Anrich Nortje was struck down by Spidercam during the second session.

Speaking in the post-match presser, Nortje expressed his apprehensions about Spidercam and also revealed that he was hit on the upper-left side of his body and will monitor his shoulder and elbow.

Post the incident, Spidercam was not used till the end day's play. Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed that the collision was a "human error" and that they would take "additional measures" on Day three so that such an occurrence does not take place.

"Definitely. The one thing we’ve spoken about earlier is how low it is, and it probably shouldn’t be ... unless for interviews or something. I don’t think it should be travelling at head height.

So far so good. It just knocked the shoulder and the elbow, the elbow’s a bit sore, but otherwise seems to be OK. I’ll just monitor it [and] see how it goes with doc.”

Nortje produced an exhilarating spell of bowling before Spidercam ran into him, clocking up to speeds of 155 km/h and giving away just 11 runs in his four overs, against an in-form Steven Smith and David Warner.

The 29-year-old did manage to get Smith for 85, and also ended up injuring Cameron Green with a sharp bouncer.
