Delhi Capitals' (DC) prominent pacer, Anrich Nortje, expressed contentment with his bowling performances in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season, albeit he desires to increase his wicket-taking tally.

The speedster from South Africa, currently recognized as one of the world's fastest bowlers, has accounted for six wickets in the seven matches he has featured in the competition so far.

While speaking to the broadcaster ahead of the game against Gujarat Titans (GT), Nortje stated that he has been following the strategies provided by the Delhi Capitals management and executing them effectively, while also maintaining a steady rhythm.

"I am currently feeling good. I haven't got the wickets I wanted but all-in-all feeling good. The rhythm's been good and it's all about executing your plans in these wickets. I think personally there have been a lot of standout performances. We would like to add a few guys more to contribute," said Nortje.

Nortje further acknowledged that he has limited experience playing in India and is therefore still in the process of comprehending the intricacies of bowling in the conditions. The speedster stated that he is focusing on improving his ability to take wickets during the powerplay and towards the end of the innings, and is determined to absorb as much knowledge as possible.

Meanwhile, defending a modest total of 130, the South African paceman bowled brilliantly and dismissed Gujarat’s star batter, Shubman Gill, early in the match for just six and laid the foundation for the rest of the bowlers.

Even though Nortje delivered an excellent performance in his first three overs, he faced three successive sixes from Rahul Tewatia in the penultimate over of the game, which shifted the momentum in the defending champions' favor.

However, veteran bowler Ishant Sharma held his nerve and conceded just six runs in the final over to seal a breathtaking five-run victory for the Delhi Capitals.
