CAB to honour former India cricketer Jhulan Goswami

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is all set to honor former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami during its annual prize distribution day on October 29. Goswami will receive the 'Legendary Cricketer' award for her services to Indian cricket for over 19 years.

Goswami announced her retirement last month, having represented India Women in 12 Tests, 204 ODIs, and 68 Tests, picking up 355 wickets between 2002 and 2022. 

CAB will conduct the ceremony after a gap of two years and will appreciate players for the 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 seasons. 

Several players will also be lauded for their performances. Deepti Sharma will be rewarded with 'Iconic Cricketer' award for winning silver medal in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. 

The Kartick Bose Lifetime Achievement Award will be conferred to — Uday Bhanu Banerjee, Gargi Banerjee (2019-20), Sambaran Banerjee, Lopamudra Banerjee (2020-21) and Ashok Malhotra, Mithu Mukherjee (2021-22). 

Wicket-keeper Richa Ghosh and all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed will be presented with Special Award for Excellence in Performances. 

Other players  on the list are Mukesh Kumar, Ishan Porel, Ravi Kumar, and Abhishek Porel.
