Back-to-back wins in the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup have helped India consolidate their second position in the Group 2 standings.
Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, India claimed a six-wicket victory over West Indies last evening, with brilliant performances with both bat and ball.
Deepti Sharma picked up three wickets, while Richa Ghosh slammed an unbeaten 44, as India inched closer to the next stage of the tournament.
Deepti also became the first Indian bowler to claim 100 T20I wickets during the course of the encounter.
In the post-match presentation, Harmanpreet praised both, especially Deepti, who had a poor first match against Pakistan.
The skipper revealed that team management and bowling coach Troy Cooley worked with Deepti before the match, which helped her deliver the goods for the side against the Windies.
Here's what Harmanpreet said
"We discussed about Deepti’s bowling in the team meeting and she was not happy with the last game, the bowling coach helped her and today she got the results. She (Richa) has been great for us. She’s someone who can pull the game for us and we are really happy that she is in that touch."
On Saturday, India will face table-toppers England, who are also unbeaten in this tournament. However, the match will be played in Gqebehra, a venue where both teams will be playing their first game of the showpiece event.
