BCCI chief Roger Binny to focus on injuries and pitches

Binny said that he will be primarily focusing on two aspects of Indian cricket after becoming the BCCI President. He claimed that prevention of injuries to players will be one of his primary goals, and talked about the impact of Jasprit Bumrah’s back injury on India’s T20 World Cup 2022 plans.

The former cricketer also added that he will be focusing on the quality of pitches to be used in the country going ahead. While speaking with the ANI, he said:

“As the BCCI president, I want to primarily focus on 2 things. First is the prevention of injuries to the players. Jasprit Bumrah got injured just before the World Cup, which affects the whole plan. Second, I want to focus on the pitches in the country.”

Jasprit Bumrah sustained a back injury just weeks prior to India’s T20 World Cup 2022 campaign in Australia. The ‘Men in Blue’ will be facing arch-rivals Pakistan at the MCG on October 23 to mark their first match of the tournament.
