Josh Brown, playing just the second T20 match of his career, blasted 62 from just 23 balls against the Sydney Sixers. The Brisbane Heat opener clubbed four boundaries and six sixes during his short-yet-impactful stay at the crease, during which his side raced to 85 within seven overs by the time of his dismissal.

Brown also entered his name into the BBL record books through his blistering knock. His innings strike-rate of 269.56 now marks the fifth quickest fifty-plus score in BBL history after the likes of Chris Gayle, Dan Christian, Tom Banton and Ben Cutting.

Josh Brown reveals his strategy after 23-ball hurricane

Brown’s innings was described as a ‘life-changing’ one for him by the commentators. After his dismissal, the cricketer interacted with the network by the boundary side where he was asked to reveal his batting strategy.

The right-hander hilariously responded:

“Just watch the ball, and hit it as far as I can really.”

Brown’s hurricane effort powered Brisbane Heat to a mammoth 223-5 off their 20 overs. Number three batter Nathan McSweeney top-scored in the innings with a 51-ball 84, featuring three sixes and eight boundaries.

Sixers’ bowlers Ben Dwarshuis, Hayden Kerr, Sean Abbott and Daniel Christian all claimed a wicket each in the innings.
