Bangladesh's prodigious fast-bowling talent, Taskin Ahmed, renowned for his tremendous pace and variety, has declined an offer from PSL 2023 franchise Multan Sultans. The right-arm pacer has refused to participate in three games to ensure his adequate training and fitness for his upcoming home series against England.

During the Sylhet phase of the Bangladesh Premier League, Taskin incurred a grade-1 tear in his left leg, leading to his exclusion from a few matches by the Dhaka Dominators. The Bangladesh Cricket Board's medical team created a rehabilitation plan to ensure Taskin's full recovery ahead of the upcoming home series against England, which features three ODIs and T20Is, scheduled to commence on March 1st.

As per a recent report by Cricbuzz, Multan Sultans sought Taskin's participation in three games, beginning on February 17. Despite being capable of playing, the quick bowler consulted his physio, who advised him to continue training before accepting the offer. As a result, the cricketer rejected the proposal to prevent any adverse effects on his health or potential repercussions on his national team duties.

"They (Sultan Multan) wanted me for three matches. Initially they wanted me from February 17 for three matches and afterwards I spoke with the physio and he said I can go but it would be better if I do bit more training," Taskin told Cricbuzz on Saturday.

The Bangladesh bowler stated that now that he is okay, he could have gone to play as well, but after speaking with the physiotherapist, he did not inform the board about the offer because he wanted to train properly before the critical series against England. According to the bowler, if he missed the upcoming series (against England) due to any injury during the PSL, it would look bad.

Taskin also expressed his lack of regret for missing the Indian Premier League last season, which resulted in his selection for Bangladesh against South Africa. The Bangladesh Cricket Board refused to grant Taskin a "no-objection letter" for IPL participation. However, the Board heeded former captain Mashrafe Mortaza's recommendation that Taskin should be compensated for missing the IPL.
