New Zealand hit the bullseye on Wednesday as their disciplined effort in every front handed them a 79-run victory in the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series versus Pakistan that stands levelled 1-1.

While New Zealand's sheer brilliance was on display, Pakistan seemed to lack plans as their absurd batting strategy did not go down well with fans and pundits.

Similarly, the men in green had no answers to Devon Conway and Kane Williamson's spirited innings as the duo's 181-run stand pushed them towards the total 261 on what seemed like a slack Karachi track.

As Pakistan skipper Babar Azam cited, his idea in the second innings was to take the game deep along with Mohammad Rizwan as his team was already under the pump after losing two wickets early in the run-chase.

He even touched upon the Pakistan bowlers comeback as they brought down the Kiwis to 261/10 from 183/1.

Here's what Babar said:

"We didn't start well with the ball but came back nicely. Also, we lost a couple of wickets early with the bat and hence we were behind the game. The plan between myself and Rizwan was to take the game deep but losing wickets puts pressure on you. The wicket had turn and bounce, it was difficult to take on the spinners and Salman did well to play his shots.

"The ball was coming on differently compared to the first match but credit to the New Zealand spinners as they bowled well. The pitch generally plays better in the second innings here but today was a one-off."

It will be all to play for in the series-decider scheduled on January 13 at National Stadium, Karachi.
