The cricket world has come across several brother duos as they conquered the world with their cricket brilliance. Among all of them, Anmolpreet Singh and Prabhsimran Singh would be the underrated ones. This talented pair has become a force to reckon with in Punjab’s domestic circuit, showcasing consistent brilliance.

As Prabhsimran Singh is making waves in the IPL 2025 for the Punjab Kings, the spark behind his rise comes from close to home. In a recent chat, his cousin Anmolpreet Singh revealed how he pushed his brother’s confidence.

Anmolpreet’s ‘Long-Drive’ Mantra

In Punjab’s domestic cricket, Anmolpreet Singh and Prabhsimran Singh, the cousin duo, are known for their cricket brilliance. While Anmolpreet made his IPL debut in 2021, he’s since faded into the background, going unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. On the flip side, his cousin, Prabhsimran Singh, is making waves with his unreal form donning the PBKS jersey.

But behind Prabhsimran Singh’s outstanding form, the inspiration lies only at his home. In a recent chat, his cousin Anmolpreet Singh revealed how a simple drive to the stadium turned into a confidence-boosting session.

“Chal main tenu Mullanpur chhad aau. I gave him my example. The chances I have wasted and how I have fallen down in the pecking order. I reminded him that he is 24 now, and this will be his make-or-break season,” he said.

‘Cuss’ Words Turn Into A Life Lesson

Like every Indian kid, Prabhsimran Singh grew up dreaming of wearing the Team India jersey, and with his red-hot form for PBKS, that dream is inching closer. In the recent interaction, Anmolpreet Singh revealed how he motivated his brother to chase his goal, using what he cheekily calls a ‘harsh’ dose of motivation.

“I told him to score two hundreds this season, and everything will be taken care of. I specifically told him if he wants to play for India, he must score at least two centuries this season to get noticed. The conversation was a bit harsh. I can’t tell you the Punjabi cuss words I used, but it was more along the lines of making the most of the stars. The 20s and 30s will not take him anywhere,” he added.

In the ongoing IPL edition, Prabhsimran Singh is having a blasting season. In 10 matches, he scored 346 runs with 2 half-centuries, along with an average of 34.6. With this fiery form, he has been a strong pillar of the Punjab Kings’ top order. As the team eyes a playoff spot, Prabhsimran could prove to be the game-changer.
