One of the most criticized cricketers in the recent past, Indian cricketer KL Rahul has been on the radar for quite a while for his underwhelming performances. Of late, his poor returns in the IPL sparked further debates before he was ruled out of the season due to a hip-flexor injury which meant the right-hander is out for the next few months.

A few days back, he underwent a successful surgery in London and is now on the road to recovery as the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper is going through rehabilitation.

Recently, Rahul went as a guest on the Ranveer Allahbadia Show where he was asked about the players and athletes being criticised by experts and fans for no reason just because of some performances without thinking about what the person is facing.

Adding to this, the 31-year-old revealed that he is highly affected by the comments made by people on some occasions as other cricketers in the team feel the heat too.

“That’s something that sometimes affects me and affects a lot of the other boys as well that when we athletes truly need support, people feel they can or have the power to comment or say what they want. Just see what that person is going through.

“None of us wants to perform badly. This is our life. This is all we do. Like I said, I don’t know anything else apart from cricket. That’s the only thing I do. Why would anyone assume that I am not serious about my game or I am not working hard enough? And unfortunately in sports, there is no connection. Like I said you can work hard, like I work hard but the result didn’t go my way.”

KL mentioned that it is wrong to assume that the player is not working hard enough as the results sometimes do not favour which has been the case with him for a while.
