60 Overs Of Hell! How Virat Kohli's One-Liner Channeled Winning Spirit Inside Team India

Virat Kohli is known as someone who is on your face and doesn't shy away from any challenge. He is aggressive as a leader, and it was proved during India's famous tour of England in 2021.

The Lord's Test will forever be etched in history books as India famously came from behind and on this day, 3 years ago, captured a historic win.

Courtesy of a brilliant start from KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, India posted a healthy 364 on the board. KL scored a brilliant century which propelled India to a match-winning total against a strong England attack.

Kohli's aggressive words motivated Indian bowlers to seal famous win

In reply, England slammed 391 runs, and it was the one-man army, Joe Root (180) who fought a brave lone battle and kept England alive in the contest. India's second innings didn't go according to the plan, as they lost wickets at regular intervals.

However, it was the unlikely duo of Mohammed Shami (56) and Jasprit Bumrah (34) who frustrated the England bowlers and guided India to a strong position as Kohli declared the innings and the hosts were setup a target of 272 inside 60 overs.

Ahead of the England innings, Team India came out in a huddle, and Kohli gave a pep talk, and gave the all-time best one liner: "Let's give them 60 overs of hell."

After this, the England team were never really in the hunt. No one barring Root stood firm as the Indian bowlers ran riot and when Mohammed Siraj knocked over James Anderson to seal the match, Kohli could be seen animated, at his aggressive best, celebrating, what we now call one of the best Test wins on foreign soil.
