Wicket-Keeper batsman Ishan Kishan has said that he is ready to bat at any position given to him by the Indian side. The Mumbai Indians’ opener also said that he thrives under pressure and it is the domestic and IPL experience that has helped him gain confidence.
In an interview with Wisden, Ishan said, “It’s always difficult to make it to the team, but that’s how it has always been. But now that I am here, I don’t mind playing anywhere.”
“Especially because I have batted at so many places alright. Especially having switched position in the middle and opening the innings, I am fine batting anywhere the team wants,” he added.
Kishan had a fantastic last season in the IPL with the Mumbai side where he scored 516 runs in the entire tournament. The Jharkhand skipper who played under Rohit Sharma in the MI side said that he liked being in the dressing room.
“It’s amazing being in the dressing room with mentors like Rohit Bhai and many others. The Mumbai Indians stint has been the bedrock of my cricketing career with the advice from Rohit and Zaheer Bhai,” said the 22-year-old.
