Mushfiqur Rahim, one of Bangladesh’s key players going into the T20 World Cup in November this year, has been not allowed to enter the team bubble for Tigers’ five math T20I series against Australia at home. Rahim skipped the white-ball segment of the Zimbabwe tour to be with his ailing father and also to make sure that he is able to enter into the team bubble.

But as things stand, Australia refused his entry saying that he did not have the mandatory qualifications. This did not go down well with the Bangladeshi coach Russell Domingo who termed the Australian behaviour as disappointing.

"I can't understand the stringent rules Australia placed on Mushfiqur's bubble. I think 10 days would have surely been enough. It's very disappointing the way they went about it," Domingo was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

“Mushfiqur is surely a loss for us but we have got a big squad and some quality players to replace him,” he added.

The 46 year was also upbeat about facing the Australian pace bowling which includes accomplished men like Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.

"Mitchell Starc and Hazlewood are quality bowlers and we have looked at some of their footage. But at the end of the day, you will play the ball not the man. End of the day they are humans and will bowl some bad balls," said the South African.

Bangladesh will be going into the series without the services of regular openers Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das and even that does not make Domingo fear for anything as he openly claimed that Bangladesh is playing this series to win it.

“We are not coming up just to compete. We want to make sure we give Australia a good go and at the end of the day we are going to try and win the series," he said.

Till now, the teams have played each other four times and all four have been one of the meetings in the World Cup and hence this would be the first-ever bilateral T20I series between the two teams.

Bangladesh would be looking to register their first-ever win against the mighty Kangaroos when they face them in the five-match series starting with the first match scheduled for August 3 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
