India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen back in the nets. Jadeja had been out of action after getting injured on the Australian tour. The left-handed cricketer had injured his left thumb during the third Test and was ruled out. He later on missed the England Test series at home as well.
"Ravindra Jadeja is out of the first two Tests against England. He will need 4-6 weeks minimum to recuperate and complete rehab which rules him out of the first 2 tests," a BCCI source told PTI then.
“He is out of Test series and he will take more than six weeks to recover completely. The selectors will take a call later, whether to include him in the team for the shorter formats,” a BCCI official told The Indian Express after Jadeja was ruled out of the Test series against England as well.
The left-hander posted a video of him on social media that was captioned, “Feeling good.holding bat n ball after two months #gettingready #focusonyourself.” Jadeja isn’t a part of the Indian setup that will face England in the five-match T20I series scheduled to begin on Friday in Ahmedabad. The two teams will then face each other in a three-match ODI series.
The 32-year-old player scored 28* and scalped a four-wicket haul before getting ruled out of the series against Australia.
India registered wins in the series against Australia and England respectively. The Indian team defeated Australia 2-1 away from home while thumped England 3-1 on the home soil.
The series win against England has helped Virat Kohli’s troops to march into the final of the World Test Championship to be played against New Zealand in June in Southampton.
