Former Team India chairman of selectors MSK Prasad has tipped the legendary Virat Kohli to deliver big time during the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia.

India, the No.1 ranked Test side, will take part in their second successive WTC final at the Oval next month between June 07-12, and the former skipper will look to stamp his authority this time around.

Kohli played one of his best knocks during the 1st innings of the last final against New Zealand, but he failed to convert it into a big knock and India eventually succumbed to an under-par total.

Kohli was in the midst of a lean patch at the time, but over the course of the last 8 months, the champion batsman has regained his mojo in all formats of the game. The 34-year-old broke the drought of Test hundreds recently in March when he scored a chanceless 186 against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Speaking to ANI, Prasad talked about Kohli’s lean patch, while also adding that the superstar cricketer will be pumped to deliver for his side at the biggest stage of them all and end the trophy drought.

"He did not have a very great 2021-22. But that is because we expect a lot from him. He has set a very high standard for himself. He has to score hundreds in every match, otherwise, it is a failure. But he is a human after all,"

"He must be having in his mind that India has not won an ICC tournament for years and must be fired up to give his best to help India win. With his form, state of mind in a good place and his seniority being above 100 Tests, I am sure he will deliver in the WTC final."

Kohli, and the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Thakur, Shardul Thakur have already landed in the UK, and have kickstarted their preparations for the all-important final.
