The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday, May 25 unveiled Team India's new training kit, under their new contract with Adidas ahead of the World Test Championship final against Australia.

Earlier, the BCCI secretary, Jay Shah confirmed that the Indian cricket team has signed a new kit sponsorship deal with Adidas. The renowned sportswear brand will be in charge of creating and producing jerseys, kits, and various other products for India's men's, women's, and Under-19 teams.

The BCCI took to Twitter to share glimpses of the Indian players donning their brand-new training kit. The likes of Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Rahul Dravid, and Vikram Rathour were spotted wearing the fresh training gear in the posted pictures.

This kit sponsorship deal with the German sporting goods giant would run until March 2028, with the Indian players donning the new apparel for the first time in their upcoming match against Australia in the World Test Championship final next month.

Here's what BCCI secretary Jay Shah said

“We are committed to helping grow the game of cricket and could not be more excited to partner with one of the world's leading sportswear brands, Adidas, in this journey."

The contract between Killer Jeans, the current kit manufacturer for the Indian team, is set to conclude on May 31. Following this, the Adidas partnership will come into effect, taking over the responsibility of designing kits. Prior to Killer Jeans, MPL held the position of India's kit sponsor.

Team India will lock horns with Pat Cummins-led Australia in the WTC final, starting from June 7 at the Oval. As part of their preparation for the event, half of the team has already arrived in London, including former India captain Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav will join the squad after completing their commitments in IPL 2023.

They are currently playing for Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans in the tournament and if their respective teams manage to secure a place in the final, they will only be able to fly to London after the completion of IPL 2023.
