Lucknow Super Giants stand-in skipper Krunal Pandya penned a heartfelt note for his supporters after the Lucknow-based franchise got eliminated from IPL 2023 in the Eliminator fixture for the 2nd time in a row.

The Krunal Pandya-led unit, which finished at the 3rd spot in the points table, were no match for five-time champions Mumbai Indians on Wednesday night as they comfortably outgunned with both bat and ball in Chennai last night.

LSG reserved its worst performance for the knockout fixture as their batsmen crumbled under pressure against rookie pacer Akash Madhwal, who finished with barely believable figures of 5/5.

Following a chastening defeat, Krunal took to his Twitter account, where he acknowledged that the season was full of ups and downs and lauded the character shown by his players at different stages of the season.

He also thanked the loyal supporters for backing the franchise through thick and thin, and vowed to come back stronger next year.

"It’s been a season that will remain with me for a long time. As a team, we have had our ups and downs this season, but have always stood up and shown character at various times throughout the campaign," wrote Kunal Pandya on his official Twitter handle.

Here's what Krunal Pandya tweeted:

Chasing 183, the Super Giants crumbled to 101 all-out in just 16.3 overs thanks to some reckless batting and shoddy running between the wickets.

As a result, MI will now face GT in Q2 for the right to play CSK in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 28.
