'Mumbai Indians' Win Over LSG Will Send...': Matthew Hayden 'Warns' Opposition

Former Australian and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Matthew Hayden has indicated that Mumbai Indians' (MI) win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Eliminator of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) would have sent shivers down the spine of his former franchise and defending champions Gujarat Titans.

The Rohit Sharma-led XI steamrolled over Krunal Pandya and Co. last evening at Chepuak, winning the encounter by an 81-run margin, thanks to Akash Madhwal's five-wicket haul. 

Hayden's words do have substance behind them, as MI have won three out of four IPL finals against CSK in the past. However, this IPL 2023 season, CSK have come out on top against their arch-rivals on both occasions in the league stage. 

Here's what Hayden said

"If they haven't already, and Mumbai Indians are not only in a position in the next game where they can qualify (for the final), that is going to send some real shivers through the spines of CSK. We have already heard that from one of their very greatest DJ Bravo. But also, Gujarat Titans, who would have they wanted to play, I don't think it would be Mumbai Indians," 


Earlier, former CSK player and current bowling coach Dwayne Bravo jokingly stated that they fear MI, and would ideally not want to face them in the final on Sunday evening at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Meanwhile, MI's immediate assignment will be against GT on Friday in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad.
