The off-spinning Sri Lankan superstar who turned out for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to miss the upcoming Afghanistan tour of Sri Lanka with a niggle on right-knee.

Hasaranga joined RCB a little late after the beginning of the season as he was with his national team who were involved in a bilateral series against New Zealand where they lost the T20I series 2-1.

The spinner played his first match this season on 15th April against Delhi Capitals and his last match was versus the Mumbai Indians on 9th May. Adding to this, he featured in a total of eight matches where his performance was underwhelming with just nine wickets to his name at an economy of 8.9.

Wanindu was already dealing some problems which kept him out of action for a few matches during the end of the season.

Last night, RCB were eliminated from the IPL after a loss to Gujarat Titans despite an outstanding century from Virat Kohli. RCB finished at sixth place with seven wins from 14 matches as they achieved 14 points by the end of the season.

Coming back to the Sri Lanka series, they would welcome the Afghanistan side for a three-match ODI series that would begin on 2nd June and run until 7th in Hambantota.
