With less than a month remaining for the much-awaited 'The Ashes 2023', both Australian and England players have started to engage in verbal games ahead of the series. Australia's Scott Boland, who will travel to England for the first time for the Ashes has stated that he has plans to counter 'BazBall' approach.

England's Test revival has been mainly due to their fearless and aggressive approach, which came under new coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes, who have won their last 10 out of 12 red-ball matches.

In his short-Test career, Bolland has picked up 28 wickets at an average of 13.42 and made an instant impact on his debut against England claiming 6 for 7. Speaking to AAP, Boland said he takes inspiration from Stuart Broad, who in English conditions is devastating.

Here's what Boland said

“I think it is going to be very interesting to see how it all plays out but I am not going to change too much from what I have done in the past .I am still going to try and bowl the majority of balls in the same spot and try and get movement off the pitch.

I am a similar bowler to Broad who doesn’t try and swing the ball as much. We are both trying to seam the ball and bowl wobble seam. I take learnings away from watching him,"

Boland further asserted that pressure will be on the hosts England to whether play aggressive cricket on a bowler-friendly pitch against Australia's four-man pace attack or not.

The first Ashes Test begins on June 16, before which Australia will meet India in the ICC World Test Championship Final 2023 on June 7.
