Marcus Stoinis Power Show Uplift LSG To A Big Score Against Indisciplined MI

Marcus Stoinis has been in great form in IPL 2023 but he saved his best for a big game against MI as he played a breathtaking knock of 89 off 47 balls. The pitch at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow is a difficult one for batting and we have seen flurry of low scores at the venue in IPL 2023. However, LSG have now posted a big score of 177 which is also the second highest total at this venue in IPL 2023 and will go back to the break as the happier side.

MI decided to bowl first after winning the toss and started off brightly as Jason Behrendorff picked two wickets in the third over to reduce LSG to 12-2. The batting was looking pretty difficult and Quinton de Kock could also not make much of an impact as LSG were 35-3 when Krunal Pandya and Stoinis got together in the 7th over.

Both of them mixed caution with aggression nicely after that and took LSG to 117 before Krunal Pandya walked off the field due to an injury on 49. However, Marcus Stoinis exploded after that brilliantly and smashed Chris Jordan all over the park to take LSG to 177 at the end of 20 overs. Stoinis hit 8 towering sixes in his highest score in IPL.

This is a good total on the Ekana pitch and MI will need to show a lot of application with the bat to win this game.
