Krunal Pandya Walks Off the Field in Lot of Pain | Will He Bowl Against MI?

Lucknow Super Giants captain Krunal Pandya retired himself hurt out on 49 after he was found limping for a single on the field in the first innings against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday. The LSG all-rounder, who would need to play a massive role in the second innings, went off the field to save himself from aggravating his injury. However, the move seemed tactically brilliant, bringing Nicholas Pooran to the crease in the death overs.

After losing three quick wickets at Lucknow, LSG found Pandya alongside Marcus Stoinis in the middle against MI's lethal bowling attack. However, to everyone's surprise, the dual attacked the Mumbai bowlers, as the skipper played second fiddle to the hard-hitting Australian.

The plan worked as a charm as Stoinis got the freedom with the swashbuckling Pooran at the other end of the crease, and the former freed his arms against the MI bowlers at the fag-end of the innings.

After getting to his fifty, the Australian all-rounder went berserk against MI's death-over specialist Chris Jordan, smashing him for 24 runs in an over on a tricky pitch.

He followed it up with two mighty consecutive maximums off Jason Behrendoroff in the subsequent over before ending the innings with a 15-run last over.

In the end, LSG got to 177-3 on a challenging wicket, thanks to the unbeaten partnership of 60 runs between Stoinis and Pooran.

The LSG skipper, who went off the field, was seen warming up his arm during the mid-innings, meaning he would return to play his act in MI's chase.
