India's new poster boy Shubman Gill is having a blast with the time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The right-hander stylish batter has been sensational for the Gujarat Titans (GT) this season, and he amassed his maiden IPL hundred against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday.

With the magnificent century, Gill bagged a rare record in the league, becoming the sixth individual to notch up a ton in IPL 2023, which is the joint most in any season of the lucrative league. The last best came during the inaugural edition of the IPL when six different batters to smash hundreds in the league.

Meanwhile, in IPL 2023, the other centurions apart from Gill are Harry Brook, Venkatesh Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav and Prabhsimran Singh.

Batting at his favourite venue, the Titans' opener got off to a flyer as he went behind the SRH bowlers in the powerplay, completing his fifth fifty-plus score of the season in just 22 deliveries. Then, however, he applied himself to the game, letting his chips down when wickets fell from the other end. But Gill didn't let the pressure of the nineties get into his head as he completed the hundred on time.

Eventually, the GT star lost his breath against Bhuvneshwar Kumar on 101 in the last over, where the SRH seamer removed three more wickets to end the day with 5-30 as Gujarat ended their innings on 188-9.
