In a remarkable turn of events, promising Indian batter Shubman Gill became the first-ever player from Gujarat Titans to breach the 1000-run mark in the IPL. Notably, Gill had already scored 958 runs for the Titans and thus needed 42 more to unlock the milestone. Continuing his red-hot form, the Indian young sensation played several glorious shots to complete a flamboyant fifty, attaining the aforementioned feat in this process.

After grabbing a million eyeballs through some spectacular performances in the 2018 under-19 World Cup, Gill earned his maiden IPL call-up, representing Kolkata Knight Riders in the lucrative league.
However, after a few topsy-turvy seasons for the two-time champions, the stylish Punjab batter was released to the auction pool, being eventually bought by the Titans in just prior to the 2022 season.
Although he was inconsistent, Gill single-handedly won GT a few games and was retained for the 2023 season. And fortunately for the defending champions, he has attained the peak of his prowess, amassing truckloads of runs for them in the tournament.
Regarding the game, Gill's fireworks and B Sai Sudharsan's consolidating knock has ensured a great start for the Titans, who are cruising towards a mammoth total, being placed at 82 for one in 7.1 overs.
