KL Rahul, who sustained a hamstring injury during the 43rd fixture of the TATA IPL league when Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), had to undergo an emergency surgery following the mishap. In his very recent Instagram post, the T20 centurion KL Rahul posted photos of himself walking around with the help of crutches days after undergoing a successful thigh injury.

He picked up this injury whilst fielding in the first innings. Faf du Plessis punched Marcus Stoinis off the second over's last ball, and Rahul desperately attempted to save a specific boundary at extra cover. However, whilst giving it a chase, the 31-year-old pulled his hamstring and was eventually escorted out of the field with the help of his physio.

Upon his successful procedure, the 31 year old took to Instagram thanking the doctors and the medical team for making him feel better. He promises to be in action for the Men in Blue very shortly and is currently undergoing rehab at National Cricket Academy.

“Hi everyone, I just got done with my surgery – it was successful. A big thank you to the doctors and medical staff for making sure I was comfortable and everything went smoothly. I’m officially on the road to recovery now. I’m determined to get back to my best and get back on the field. Onwards and upwards!”

Rahul also took to his socials, and informed everyone about his c decision to miss the WTC final. He confessed that it was not easy for him to make this desicion.

“Absolutely gutted that I won’t be at the Oval next month with Team India. I’ll do everything I can to get back in the blue and help my country. That has always been my focus and priority. After careful consideration and consultation with the medical team, it’s been concluded that I’ll be undergoing surgery on my thigh shortly. My focus will be on my rehabilitation and recovery in the coming weeks. It’s a tough call to make, but I know it’s the right one to ensure a full recovery”

The BCCI has roped in Ishan Kishan as his replacement for the upcoming blockbuster WTF final at the Oval while Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav and Mukesh Kumar have been added as reserves.
