Faf du Plessis Adds Another Feather To His Crown, Joins AB de Villiers in an Elite List

Legendary batter Faf du Plessis has added another feather to his decorated crown, breaching the 4000-run mark in the Indian Premier League. The swashbuckling right-hander, who captains Royal Challengers Bangalore, achieved the landmark against Rajasthan Royals and became only the second South African after AB de Villiers to do so in the history of the tournament. Overall, Du Plessis is the 15th player to score 4000 or more runs in the IPL.

After grabbing a million eyeballs through some sensational performances for the Proteas national side, Du Plessis finally earned his maiden IPL call-up as he was picked by Chennai Super Kings. During his stay with the Super Kings, the stylish batter oozed his class season after season, amassing 2721 runs for them at an average of 35.34 and a strike rate of 131.45. 

After being released by CSK, the former South African captain was bagged by RCB, who announced him as their captain in the 2022 season. He has been the backbone of RCB's batting alongside Virat Kohli ever since. 

Regarding the game, RCB have got a solid start against RR, courtesy of Du Plessis' impressive inning. As of writing, the visitors are 62 for one, with Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell batting on 34* and 9*, respectively.
