On expected lines, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have appointed Grant Bradburn as Pakistan men's head coach on a permanent basis. Bradburn's tenure will be for two years, during which he will oversee the side in events like ICC World Cup 2023 and ICC T20 World 2024.

Bradburn will work under Mickey Arthur, who is Pakistan's Team Director. Bradburn served as interim head coach during Pakistan's 4-1 One-Day International (ODI) series win over New Zealand last month, while the T20I series ended 2-2.

Bradburn has earlier worked with PCB between 2018 and 2020 as fielding coach, before moving to National Cricket Academy (NCA). He served as head coach for Scotland's men's side as well.

In a statement, PCB Chairman Najam Sethi welcomed Bradburn on board, while the coach called it an honour to be associated with Pakistan.

Here's what Sethi said

“I am delighted to name Grant Bradburn as the head coach of our men’s side. Bradburn joins the side with plethora of coaching experience. After having worked with our men’s side before and at the National Cricket Academy, he understands our culture and philosophy of cricket well and is an ideal candidate to take our team forward.”

Here's what Bradburn said

“It is a great honour for me to work with the highly talented and skilful side like Pakistan as a head coach. We have been working hard on our raising our game and are eager to showcase our growing skills. Mickey Arthur and I are excited to support, challenge and develop our players. The New Zealand series has been valuable to get game time and create clarity of roles, culture and brand to win.

Apart from Bradburn, former South Africa international Andrew Puttick has also signed a two-year deal as a batting coach.

Pakistan's next international assignment will be a three-ODI series against Afghanistan before the scheduled Asia Cup 2023 in September.
