Tendulkar, Kohli Salute Suryakumar Yadav's Blistering Ton vs GT

It must be a memorable innings when the opposite captain and the fielders rush towards the batter to congratulate him. It indeed has to be one heck of a knock if it forces the legendary Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar and Virat Kohli go out of their way to acknowledge that batter. And Suryakumar Yadav's hundred against Gujarat in Mumbai was one such blinder.

On Friday, Surya became the fifth Mumbai Indians batter to smash a ton in the IPL, after Sanath Jayasuriya, Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Lendl Simmons. However, his knock was not just the best one played by any MI batter but one of the best played by anyone in the league, as he not only made batting look like a video game but helped his side score a mammoth total.

Coming out to bat when MI lost their openers in a single over, SKY played the role of an anchor with a twist. The anchor did bat around the other batters, but his scoring rate was berserk.

The World No. 1 T20I batter smacked seven fours and five biggies during his spellbinding century, among which some seemed unreal to the naked eye.

Of all those hits was a maximum off Mohammed Shami, where the right-hander made room to a fuller delivery - like he does to play his inside-out shot - but opened the face of the blade pretty late and creamed it over third man.

Even the legendary Sachin Tendulkar couldn't hold himself up after seeing SKY's masterful act as he stood up and applauded that shot.

Even Virat Kohli took to his social media and congratulated the Mumbai batter for his enthralling outing against the table topper. The RCB batter posted a picture of Surya, captioning it: "Tula Maanla bhau (Respect, brother)".

Thanks to Surya's efforts, MI reached 218 runs against the Titans at the Wankhede Stadium. While chasing the daunting, GT lost five of their wickets in 7.1 overs and three more with a score of 103. Then, however, a storm named Rashid Khan came, which slammed a 32-ball 79*.

Eventually, MI did win the game but with a slim margin of 27 runs, which should have been much more than that.
