Sachin Tendulkar currently has the most hundreds in international cricket and is also the leading century-maker in Tests, and One-Day Internationals (ODI). However, his supremacy is challenged by countryman Virat Kohli, who is sitting on 46 ODI, and 75 international tons.

Given, the amount of ODI that Team India are scheduled to play in 2023, Kohli could very well surpass the master, and rewrite history. Speaking at a PUMA event, the former Indian captain talked about potentially going past Tendulkar's record.

As quoted by Cricket.com, Kohli stated that it will be an emotional moment for him. Kohli also spoke about the importance of sport in one's life, regardless of the field he/she is employed in.

Here's what Kohli said

"It will be a very emotional moment for me.

Sports teaches you some values of life, discipline and planning. It opens up your side, making you a productive person. No matter your profession, the value of playing sport is immense,"

Kohli took 265 innings to register 46 ODI hundreds, in contrast to Tendulkar, who took as many as 452 to reach 49.

Kohli's next ODI assignment will be against the visiting Afghanistan side for a three-match series in June if picked. India are also scheduled to participate in the Asia Cup 2023 and ICC World Cup 2023, which the BCCI is hosting.

The modern-day great has been in rich form this Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 having slammed 420 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
