Following the conclusion of the 50th IPL match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the crowd witnessed a very pleasant sight where the former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was seen shaking hands with the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli. This friendly gesture ended months-long tension between Ganguly and Kohli, who had several personal differences to contend with.

Tensions were rife between the two when Kohli was sacked from team India's captaincy across formats following the team's poor show in the 2021 T20 World Cup in UAE.

It was at Ganguly's decision that Kohli was sacked from his captaincy role. From that point onwards, a sour relationship between the two ensued, and since then, both of them have been at odds.

In the previous encounter against RCB at home, the two were visibly frustrated with each other and refused to shake hands during the customary post-match session. Their animosity towards one another did not end there. In addition, Kohli even unfollowed Dada on Twitter, which fuelled widespread speculation among the fans that all was not going well.

These were certainly not good signs for the duo, and amidst their deteriorating relationship, no one would have expected them to come and gracefully greet each other the way they did on Saturday.

However, during the return fixture between the two sides, Ganguly ensured he met Kohli warmly and even patted on his shoulder. In response, the RCB legend showed a big heart and shook hands with the Ex-BCCI president.

Kohli has been a negative focus point for his ferocious on-field behaviour. In his proceeding matches, the Indian legend was reprimanded by the BCCI for his ugly confrontation with Gautam Gambhir (LSG mentor) and Naveen - Ul - Haq.

He was fined a whopping 100% of his match fees for bringing the game into disrepute. However, his friendly exchange with Ganguly would have made his public image a world of good.
