Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings are currently playing the 46th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. Batting first, Punjab posted a total of 214 runs on the board on the back of a brilliant partnership by Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone. Livingstone remained unbeaten on 82 off 42 while Sharma remained unbeaten on 47 off 27.
On the receiving of their havoc was Jofra Archer, Mumbai’s most expensive bowler on the day. The all-rounder conceded 56 runs in his four overs while being unable to pick any wickets. He gave away 27 runs in the 18th over.
Liam Livingstone hit the first three deliveries for a six, after which Punjab scored two runs in the next two balls. In the last ball of the over, Archer bowled a wide which was hit for a four. This was followed by two runs in the final ball.
This was the England cricketer’s fourth game of the season, and so far, he has been unimpressive going by his standards. Archer has taken only two wickets in four games and has conceded at least 30 runs in each of these games.
Mumbai are currently seventh in the points table with four wins and as many losses, while Punjab are in the sixth spot with five wins and four losses.
