As expected, the ongoing IPL 2023 fixture between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants has been interrupted due to rain and inclement weather. The game was well poised with LSG getting set for a final flourish to their innings. However, the rain gods weren't kind to the passionate Lucknow crowd, as an untimely downpour halted the match.

Furthermore, the game got a delayed start due to persistent rain ahead of the face-off. However, the sky cleared as soon as two captains, MS Dhoni and Krunal Pandya, stepped into the ground for the toss.

The light sunshine provided the fans with a glimmer of hope to witness a full-fledged clash, but this rain interruption would most likely lead to a shortened affair between the two formidable outfits.

After being put into bat first, LSG had a steady start to their innings, as Kyle Mayers and Manan Vohra were watchful in the initial few overs. But soon, CSK spinners ran riot to dismantle the hosts' batting order, pushing them on the back foot in the blink of an eye. And as per latest reports, we will start losing overs if the game doesn't start before 6.00 PM IST.

However, young Ayush Badoni stepped up to the occasion for LSG, slamming a fighting fifty and guiding his side to a respectable total. When rain intervened, LSG were 125 for seven, with Badoni batting on 59*.
