With KL Rahul officially ruled out of the IPL match against Chennai Super Kings, Krunal Pandya has been handed the captaincy duties.

KL Rahul, got injured during the match against RCB on Monday, and walked off the field before coming out to bat at the fall of the 9th wicket.

Rahul went for a dive to stop a boundary in the RCB game and got severely injured. Doubts have been cast on his participation in the WTC finals.

In his absence, Krunal led the LSG team in the last match and will continue to don his new role in the CSK match as well.

Toss update

CSK won the toss and MS Dhoni decided to bowl first. With Lucknow witnessing rain throughout the day, and the pitch being kept under the covers, Dhoni wants his bowlers to utilise the conditions.

On the other hand, Krunal wanted to bat first. At the toss, he stated that batting first will allow the LSG batters to play freely without looking at the scoreboard.
