As per a report in the Indian Express, Lucknow Super Giants' premier all-rounder Marcus Stoinis could miss tonight's clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore due to injury.

Notably, Stoinis sustained an injury to his index finger during LSG's previous group-stage encounter against Punjab Kings and although it is not very serious, the Super Giants management could opt to not take any risk and replace him with West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd, who has mostly warmed the bench in the IPL this season.

Marcus Stoinis: Recent Form

Stoinis' absence could adversely affect LSG tonight, as he has been in sublime form of late. Overall, the swashbuckling right-handed batter has amassed 216 runs at an average of 30.86 and a blistering strike rate of 155.40, besides scalping five wickets with the ball.

More importantly, he emerged as LSG's match-winner the last time they faced RCB, helping them chase a steep 213-run target through an explosive 65-run knock.

Josh Hazlewood to return for RCB

In another notable event, ace speedster Josh Hazlewood will likely make his IPL return for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

As per the Indian Express, Hazlewood has regained his fitness and is raring to make it into the playing XI for tonight's fixture. If he plays, he will likely replace David Willey.

Meanwhile, as expected, Virat Kohli will continue to lead RCB, as regular skipper Faf du Plessis hasn't fully recovered from a rib injury he sustained earlier in the tournament.
