Rahmanullah Gurbaz made full use of the opportunity to play the IPL match against the Gujarat Titans. With Jason Roy ruled out of the match due to back spasm, Gurbaz was brought into the playing XI and he smashed a 27-ball fifty to steer KKR to a strong position.

Opening alongside Narayan Jagadeesan, Gurbaz took advantage of the batting paradise at the Eden Gardens and attacked both the GT pacers and spinners. He announced his intention with two cracking sixes against Titans' captain, Hardik Pandya over deep backward square.

Hardik brought in his ace spinner, Rashid Khan into the scheme of things, but the Afghanistan batter hammered for for a six and a boundary in the 6th over to rattle his fellow international teammate.

Gurbaz's innings has been laced with 4 fours and equal number of sixes.

Talking about the KKR innings, the start of match was delayed due to rain, but once it started, Gurbaz made sure that there were no more hiccups. Despite losing Jagadeesan and Shardul Thakur, Gurbaz has kept the flow of runs going. He has found an able partner in Venkatesh Iyer as KKR look to up their ante.

At the time of writing, KKR are 80 for 2 in 9 overs.
