It was an unbelievable bit of batting from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as they managed to breach the 250-run mark which was also the second time in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. In return, Punjab Kings (PBKS) lost the game by a margin of 56 runs and hence, missed out on two crucial points along with receiving a blow to their Net Run Rate (NRR).
The innings was started well by Kyle Mayers, and later, the baton was passed on to the likes of Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran who ensured that they were on top after the end of their innings.
The match was never in Punjab's reach even when they came out to bat as the required run rate crossed 15 in the first few overs which made the task almost unachievable.
