Shubman Gill Smashes Counter-Attacking Fifty; Arjun Tendulkar Delivers First Blood

Shubman Gill has been in the form of his life for the last year or so and has scored plenty of runs for Indian across formats. He has taken that form into IPL 2023 as well and is the leading run-scorer for this side. Now in the game 35th of IPL 2023, between GT-MI, the stylish young batter has smashed third fifty of the season. He got to his fifty in just 30 balls, taking on MI bowlers after Saha and Hardik Pandya departed without making much impact.
Arjun Tendulkar, on the other hand, got the first wicket for MI as he got the wicket of Saha in his second over drawing first blood for his side.
Hardik Pandya walked out at number 3 but could not last long as Piyush Chawla outfoxed him with a lovely flighted delivery. Gill, however, found an able partner in Vijay Shankar, and both compiled a 41-run stand before Gill holed out at long on on 56, handing Kumar Kartikeya his first wicket of the game. At the time of writing, GT are 99-3 with Shankar and Miller at the crease trying to take GT to a formidable total.
