'We Were Not Excited to Win...,' Aiden Markram Bashes His Team After Shameful Loss

It was a terrible loss for the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at their home ground against Delhi Capitals (DC) as they surrendered while chasing 145, suffering a seven-run loss. Without any doubt, skipper Aiden Markram wasn't pleased as he called his batters not intentious enough to win this game.

Rightly so because their top-order except Mayank Agarwal batted at a strike rate below a hundred which is a crime in T20 cricket. Markram was very much displeased as he went on to the extent of saying that they were not excited to earn a victory in this encounter.

Moreover, he was concerned about the fact that their batting has been shambolic so far in the tournament which is a matter of disappointment for them. Aiden further asked his side to show improvement with the bat to ensure better results.

"Not good with the bat again. Not enough intent. Looked like we were not excited to win this game actually. We have to get back to the drawing board and plan. We want to play a certain brand of cricket. But unfortunately, we are letting ourselves down with the bat,"

However, the captain was incredibly proud of his bowlers to deliver an outstanding performance as a bowling unit where he mentioned that his bowlers didn't deserve to lose this game.

"I enjoy doing it but the guys need to bring out their A-game. Incredibly proud of the bowlers. They executed their plans brilliantly. Our bowling side doesn't deserve to be on the losing side tonight. That's the only positive thing we have got out of this game."

After this game, SunRisers will have a chance to take revenge when they both meet on 29th April.
