189 on The Board, Harshal Patel Replaces Faf du Plessis As Impact Player Against Rajasthan

After scoring a pivotal 62 against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Faf du Plessis has been subbed off the field due to an ongoing injury and in his place, medium pacer Harshal Patel has been called to replace him as an impact player.

After being asked to bat first on Sunday Afternoon, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) posted 189 on the board with the fifties from du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell as the rest of the line-up couldn't do well for the side with as many as three run-outs restricting them from crossing the 200 run mark.

However, now, to defend their total, the Bangalore-based franchise have opted to go for an additional pace bowler in their line-up in form of Patel who has been a genuine death bowler for the past few years.

He would have to accompany the attack that consists of David Willey, Mohammed Siraj, and Vijaykumar Vyshak along with the spin of Wanindu Hasaranga and Glenn Maxwell.

Previously, Faf du Plessis did the same thing against Punjab Kings where he batted first and then, sat on the bench in the second innings to manage his injury. Also, Virat Kohli has been handed over the reins by the time he fully recovers.

RCB were 16 for 1 after the completion of three overs with Jos Buttler out for a duck in the very first over.
