Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell continued from where they left the last time RCB played at the Chinnaswamy. After the early loss of Virat Kohli and Shahbaz Ahmed, the duo of Maxwell-du Plessis have taken the attack to the Rajasthan bowlers.
Trent Boult dismissed Virat Kohli on a first ball duck, and came back in his second over to grab the wicket of Shahbaz Ahmed. But since then, RCB have pressed the power button have not looked back.
Maxwell joined du Plessis when Boult had the upper hand and RCB were tottering at 12 for 2. But this is where the tables turned and the duo punched above their weight to take down the RR bowlers.
Faf du Plessis pressed the aggressive button and smacked Sandeep Sharma for a six and a boundary. Maxwell dealt a couple of boundaries to Boult, but brought his best against the spin duo of R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.
In Ashwin’s first over, Maxwell took him to the cleaners and lofted him over long-off. When Chahal came to the attack, Maxwell showed his 360 degree prowess and reverse swept him to announce his arrival.
Thanks to this counter-attack, Rajasthan bowlers were rattled and RCB had snatched the momentum that RR had early in the power-play.
