Mumbai Indians' (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma while batting for his side against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Wankhede Stadium achieved a massive milestone. The big-hitter during the ninth over of the chase smashed a massive six off Rahul Chahar which in the record books was his 250th six in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

With this record, he became the first Indian to do so for which he took 233 IPL games in his 16 year long career. Moreover, he is also third on the list of most sixes in the history of the league so far with Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers ahead of him with 357 and 251 sixes, respectively.

In his IPL career, the MI captain, fondly known as the 'Hitman' has banged 6058 runs at a strike rate of 130 which came at an average of 30.29.

Coming back to the match, Punjab posted a massive total of 214 on the board on the back of half-century from stand-in captain Sam Curran and some late blows from Jitesh Sharma.

In return, Mumbai Indians are 132 for 2 after the end of 14 overs with Sharma laying the foundation with crucial 44 run knock off 27 balls before he perished on the bowling off Liam Livingstone.
